Steve Emmett

Steve Emmett has been the MD of Brian A French & Associates Ltd since February 1987 when he bought the business from Mr Brian A French who, with his Australian wife Elizabeth, had decided to move to Australia.

Steve and Brian had met each other through FOPDAC (Federation of Overseas Property Developers, Agents and Consultants) of which Steve was a committee member at the time and Brian the Hon. Secretary. This of course means that Steve has been at the helm longer than Brian was! In 1990, just as that recession started to bite (remember it?), Steve was elected Chairman of FOPDAC and he served six consecutive years, a record. During this time he steered the Federation through the doldrums and laid the foundations for the success which FOPDAC is now enjoying. Steve is also a long-standing member of the National Association of Estate Agents and holds the title of Fellow (FNAEA). During the 1990's he worked hard to bring the NAEA and FOPDAC closer together with the aim of creating an industry standard for cross border property transactions. Now, ten years later he has been re-elected Chairman of FOPDAC yet again and the close ties with the NAEA have been revitalised. Steve considers the collaboration of these two long-established organisations essential in today's ever changing and expanding international markets.
